Summer Apres Planet - Flipbook - Page 7
MESSAGE FROM THE A-TEAM
Summer is associated with bright,
bold colours, this season we’re
looking for the, ahem, cool factor!
W
e – and other very smart people
who get paid to think on these
things – have written a lot about
colour theory and the impact colour
has not only on aesthetics but also on
the people who work in and inhabit
colourful spaces.
Colour has the power to change
moods, boost productivity, and to
beautify. Whereas usually, summer is
associated with bright, bold colours,
this season we’re looking for the,
ahem, cool factor!
Ocean blues, tropical greens, and
some greys are what interior folk
would consider ‘cool’ colours. They
evoke a sense of relaxation and
calmness. Employed correctly in your
outdoor spaces, these colours will
help to achieve a sleek, yet soothing
vibe.
When the mercury is rising outside,
you’ll want to be sat in one of these
cool-coloured collections…
First up we have Indian Ocean (even
the brand name evokes scenes of
warm ocean spray and lazy beach
days on some exotic coastline!) with
their new Porto Collection.
The brand has been around for nigh
on 35 years and was founded at the
junction when we started looking a
little differently at the way we design
our spaces. Around the early 90s,
designers started to blur the lines
when it came to de昀椀nitive inside
versus outside spaces.
